Thirty-six outstanding student-athletes from The University of Hong Kong (HKU) will compete in the upcoming 15th National Games of the People's Republic of China (National Games), striving for honours.
HKU's talented athletes are set to shine in 14 events, including tennis, athletics, fencing, and triathlon. Among those athletes are tennis player Coleman WONG Chak Lam, who recently achieved remarkable results at the US Open; fencer CHOI Chun Yin Ryan, who clinched the gold medal in the Men’s Foil Individual event at the 2025 Fencing World Championships; and badminton player TSE Ying Suet, who secured her first title at the 2025 Badminton Asian Championships, winning the gold medal in mixed doubles. On the field, these student-athletes are determined to bring glory to Hong Kong, while showcasing HKU's commitment to fostering students’ holistic development and supporting them in balancing academic pursuits with elite sports training.
Fencer Choi Chun-yin, alongside 15 other HKU student athletes, will attend a sharing session on Friday, 31 October. Professor Bennett Yim, Director of Undergraduate Admissions and International Student Exchange at HKU, and Dr Michael Tse, Director of Centre for Sports and Exercise at HKU, will attend to show their encouragement for the competing athletes.
